Over the past few years, Arta has built a solid audience base on radio and on social media.
However, much of the content and formats used are becoming 'old-fashioned' as new technologies and tools emerge around the world. Also, the provision of essential services has significantly improved in north-east Syria in recent months, and more and more people are going back to TV and social media as their main source of news and information, as opposed to radio.
Arta therefore needs to improve and develop new journalistic formats that are more engaging and more informative, targeting audiences that have more information needs but less and less time. More specifically, Arta would like to develop and adopt innovative digital formats and professional data journalism skills.
This is important to keep Arta competitive and relevant in a changing media environment, especially among the younger generations and the Syrian diaspora.
